Prior to iProspect India, Singh was COO, moneycontrol.com
In December 2016, iProspect India, the digitalagency from Dentsu Aegis Network, appointed Rubeena Singh as its chief executive officer. Delighted to be joining the iProspect family, Singh looked forward the most to helping the employees navigate through tumultuous times and guide them to best maximize returns on their marketing and media spends. Since then, Singh has been moving from strength to strength in the company. From Dubai to Worli, let's take a peek into the exciting first week of Rubeena Singh
Day 1 and 2: Clocking the miles and sunny Dubai
Day 1 and 2 were quite eventful and full of activity. I started my innings with the annual conference in Dubai where I got to meet the entire DAN team. It helped me understand the various businesses, ethos and vision of the company. It was great fun to hang out with new colleagues in a non-office setting on the very first day at work.
Day 3: Room with a view
My first day at the iProspect India office in Worli, Mumbai – I was really excited and looking forward to what lay ahead in terms of experiences. I moved into my new cabin, well lit, with a nice view. It needed a touch of personal style though, which was done in the next 2 days.
Day 4, 5 and 6:
Rocking and expanding Digital family at DAN: With the acquisition of Fractal, DAN added 65 more digital specialists to the family, underlining once again the company's focus on Digital.
Was my move from Publishing to Agency right? – Oh YEA! With this move, I now have a 360 degree view of the digital ecosystem. Moneycontrol.com gave me exposure to product excellence, ad sales, convincing clients (which included agencies also) to do brand spend on digital and an insight into how digital can be leveraged to touch the lives of many. Now, in the shoes of an agency professional, advising clients on how digital can unlock their brand potential and deliver highest ROI for dollar media spend comes naturally with utmost conviction.
Meetings, meetings and more meetings: There’s really no concept of 'easing into a role'. As CEO, it’s paramount to understand what clients need and that insight one gets only by meeting and engaging with them. I’ve started this off on a busy note and hope to carry this through.
Week 1 summary
As I had surmised in an earlier interview, the digital genie is out of the bottle now and is only going to get bigger. iProspect India growth over the recent years has been great and now, with the government firmly behind Digital India, the digital rocket ship has a strong tail wind behind it. It’s going to be a thrilling ride as team iProspect India works towards the goal of 10x growth in the next 5 years. For me, it’s an honor to be part of this team and lead it and I’m extremely positive about what we can achieve in the mid-term future.
