With a career spanning over 18 years in agencies like Lintas, Leo Burnett and JWT, Agnello Dias today ranks among the top creative names in the country.
As creative head of Leo Burnett, he led them to their first Global Agency of the Year honour in 2004. He took over the creative reins of JWT India in 2005. In 2006, the agency was ranked India’s Top Creative Agency according to the Campaign Brief rankings. In 2007, he created history by leading JWT India to their best ever performance at the Cannes International Advertising Festival by an Indian advertising agency. In 2008, a watershed year, he won India’s first ever Grand Prix as well as the integrated Cannes lion, besides winning another two Grand Prix awards at Goafest. He was also elected Creative Director of the year by NDTV and led JWT to the Agency of the Year honor at the Asian Advertising Congress.
Santosh Padhi, popularly known as Paddy, is the only Indian to win the highest number of Cannes Lions (12), the first Indian to win a Cyber Cannes Lion, and a Cyber Oneshow Pencil (2009). He was voted as the 3rd Best Art Director in the world, in a survey conducted by Campaign (UK) and the No. 1 Creative Person from India, by Campaign Brief Asia ranking, in 2008 and 2009.
He is the only Art Director from India to win Golds Awards for his art direction at almost every international award show: Cannes, Adfest, Spikes Asia, New York Festival and the London International Awards, to name a few.
Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Economics from Elphinstone College Bombay and an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Umesh has worked with a plethora of big names like Voltas, Lintas, Euro RSCG, Lemon.
He’s been instrumental in planning and implementation of brand strategies for Bajaj Auto, Unilever, Cadbury, Asian Paints, Castrol, Heinz, Kotak Mahindra, BBC World, Walt Disney, HSBC, Shoppers’ Stop, NIIT and Edelweiss, among others.
