ABP News - Aapko Rakhe Aage

In the race to gather maximum TRPs, most news channels today boast about delivering news at lighting fast speeds; often forgetting that in the world’s largest democracy, the most important aspect of news are the people. ABP News wanted to tap into this very opportunity by involving its audience more actively and making news a two-way street. Our activation idea started a 2-way dialogue between the channel and the viewers. To achieve this, we installed a visual device, a larger than life 'Podium' at key bus shelters across 40 cities. Through this, people got an excellent opportunity to share their opinions in real time. People shared their opinions on various issues at the Podium, which were recorded live and featured on our show ‘Maha Bahas’. This idea was further extended through the TVC to radio, print and outdoor. The strategy was to build the channel equity through various mediums. The campaign caused quite a stir, with their digital reach exceeding 10.5 million people. Needless to say, the TRPs shot up considerably, and organically.
