Maruti Suzuki, one of the biggest auto players in India, had initiated a media pitch a couple of months ago.
Whilst Maruti and Dentsu declined to confirm the news, industry sources confirm that the media mandate for the account is slated to go to the Dentsu Aegis Group. The account size is pegged at Rs 400 crore.
The incumbent agency on the account is IPG Mediabrands Initiative
Last year the brand appointed the Dentsu Aegis Network’s agencies for its digital mandate, which includes media planning, buying, creative, SEO, social media and SEM.
It is also to be noted that the Dentsu Creative Impact from the Dentsu Aegis Network also handles the creative mandate for 13 brands of Maruti Suzuki India. Some of the brands handled by Dentsu Creative Impact include Swift, Swift Dzire, Ertiga , Alto 800, Celerio and Alto K10.
For the record, Maruti Suzuki, a leader in passenger vehicles, makes 1.5 million Maruti Suzuki family cars every year. The automobile biggie has over 15 car models with over 150 variants. It also has a nationwide service network spanning over 1500 cities and towns and a sales network that spreads across 1471 cities and two state-of-art factories.
